Follies
In April 2017 I was in California for a couple of weeks. In that time I saw a lot of art and was inspired, but also by the sun and the light. This resulted in a couple of sketches from which I made paintings when I was back in the Netherlands. Now some years later I still work on my follies.

Pegasus
2021Years ago I started this work during a public painting session. And then I put it in my studio, it wasn't ready. Till now, suddenly I knew it, my Pegasus was born.
The fox that left its lair

2021Laughing donkey has been based on Shakespeare's work Midsummernight dream.
Animals in the field (to Roy de Forest)
2020A couple of years ago I saw a work of Roy de Forest in the Oakland Museum of Modern Art. I was inspired with his work. This is an interpretation in my own colourful style.

2020This Japanese devil is angry, it just happened. I don't know why. Lucky he is harmless.
It's not a donkey
2021That's the way it always goes. Like to paint a donkey, well it's certainly not.
The devil in disguise
2020A devil again? Yes, maybe it's the time we're living in. Well I don't know. This painting is actually a painted tapestry, no frame but a hanging system
It's not an elephant
2021Painted on lace, the lace sticked on the canvas. It gives a special effect. The big figure looks like an elephant, but it's not, although inspired by a photo with a big elephant.
